three legacy record systems: Justice/INS-013 INS Computer Linked
Application Information Management System (CLAIMS) (67 FR 64132 October 17, 2002), Justice/INS-031 Redesigned Naturalization Application Casework System (RNACS) (67 FR 20996 April 29, 2002), and Justice/INS-033 I-551 Renewal Program Temporary Sticker Issuance I-90 Manifest System (SIIMS) (66 FR 6673 January 22, 2001) into one Department of Homeland Security/United States Citizenship and Immigration Services system of records notice titled, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Benefits Information System. Categories of individuals, categories of records, and the routine uses of these legacy system of records notices have been consolidated and updated to better reflect the Department's immigration petition and application information record systems. I have got the A#. Thanks guys..
is this the number same even to my 140? I guess this number is assigned at the 140 stage.
so if i give a call to USCIS and ask the status by giving the A# will they tell me the 140 status.

questin in regards to the topic here. What are the salary requirements for job for Eb2 category. Does one need to be making that much while on H1b or once he has green card.

Did any one get an RFE to prove educational qualifications for EB3.
I did. And i think its because my lawyer didn't include my degree evaluation. Once we sent that i got approval immediately.

Yes, immigration officers at field offices do not have knowledge of what happened on July 2nd. Even today when I atteneded Infopass, I tried to remind the story by saying July 2nd event and she had no clue what happend on that date.

My labor cert priority date is Aug 21, 2006 and my 140 EB2 was filed in Dec 20, 2006 and I received the RFE last week from NSC.
I did complete the masters program but did not have the official certificate in hand. On my certificate and official transcripts - the date of graduation is the day the certificate was issued - which is Jan 2007 - which is the graduation date according to the verbage.

Hi Bee-- Great post clarifiying the IV cause. I am a volunteer for IV, but my labour is still pending at PBEC (Jul 2002 CA EB2 RIR). When we met the Congress Persons in Bay Area last week, we did talk about the labour certification backlogs. In fact, the immigration staff at both the places were aware of the labour backlogs (even though one of them didn't know about the retrogression). IV is representing the labour certification backlogs and asking for transparency in the backlog centers.
So All -- whether we are stuck in labour or retrogression -- Let's rally together. Please join IV and strengthen our representation.
There is very little time left. Let us join together and present a united front under IV.

Can I file concurrently I-140 and I-485 if the labor is approved but haven't received the hard copy? What do I need to attach to these applications to substitute for the hard copy?

for say 1 year or so and then invoke AC21. Then you should have any issues.

The future employer is threatening to withdraw the I 140 if I dont comply with his financial terms.
I heard that if I 140 is approved and 485 is pending for 180 days, even if the employer withdraws I140 , there isn't much we need to worry. Is this true. currently on h1 which is expiring next month 6th. To convert to EAD do I need to do anything specific and send an update to USCIS?

Usually if Primary's GC approved, RFE for dependents is minor.
When my GC is approved, my dependents get an RFE.
It is for Marriage certificate, birth certificate etc.
Lawyer want $250 for each persons to respond the rfe.
I did asked a copy from the lawyer and send the RFE reply. GC approved within 1 week.
USCIS condider each I-485 as seperate petition, not as a full family affair. My lawyer have all the details, but I think she send these documents with my package only. That is why these birth and marriage certificates are missed from my dependents file.
Lawyers make money and penalise us for their omissions also !!!!!!!!!!!!!
But they didn't admit it. But I did outsmart them with the RFE.
After one month legal aid call me for money and documents, I told them, I have GC in my hand. THANK YOU. !!!!!!!!!!

I have seen people talking about getting approvals with misdemeanors, but each case may be different. Murthy.com forums has a special section for people dealing with misdemeanor issues and have gone through the process, may be you will get some more tips about preparing for the interview there. Your B-1 visa does not allow you to stay in the US during the gap.
You could probably leave and use the B to return during the gap, but you would not be able to work on the B and you would have to file a new change of status once you got here, with premium processing to get it approved before October 1st, so it may not be worth the cost to do so, since the gap is only about 4-6 weeks. And there is no guarantee that you would be allowed back in on the B for that purpose.

Got approval emails on August 14th, received approval notice by mail on August 20th, and finally got the physical green cards by mail today.:)

I have applied for my I-485 in June 2007.
This is what i got on 29 Nov-2007
On November 29, 2007, we mailed you a decision on your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
and on Dec 11th my status changed to
On December 11, 2007, the post office returned our last written notice on this case as undeliverable
My attorney got letters that my wife and daughter got denied as mine was denied..i am runing out of time and still do not know why it was denied..
we are at the same address where we got our EAD's and AP's and we have been checking the mail box every day to find out the reason.
if somebody who knows or gone through the same please share with me what you did and what happened.
